Custom Marching Design
Custom Marching Band Show Design | White Mage Music
White Mage Music has been designing competitive marching band shows since 2004. Over two decades, we've worked with high school, college, and independent ensembles across Texas, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, and Ohio — and the results speak for themselves. Every client in recent years has won a State or Circuit championship, earned a class promotion, or posted year-over-year score improvements. That's not a marketing claim. That's just the track record.
What We Actually Do
Custom marching band show design at White Mage Music means one thing: a show built from the ground up for your ensemble. Your players, your directors, your competitive goals. We don't pull from a catalog of pre-written arrangements and rebrand them. Everything — the music composition, the arrangements, the audio engineering, the sound design — is original work designed around what your band does well and where you need to grow.
Our design process is visual-first. Before a single note gets written, we establish the visual concept, the color palette, the prop design, and the field layout. The music comes second — it soundtracks the visual story, not the other way around. It's a philosophy built from years of DCI and DCA design experience, and it's a big part of why our shows hold up competitively from the first competition to State.

Who We Work With
We design for programs at every competitive level — UIL 4A, 5A, and 6A in Texas; ISSMA in Indiana; SCBDA in South Carolina; BOA regional and national programs; and Tournament of Bands and Cavalcade circuits in the northeast. We understand that a 6A program in Texas has different needs than a 3A program in South Carolina, and we design accordingly.
Our clients include repeated UIL Area Finalists, ISSMA State Champions, SCBDA State Champions, and World, Open, and Regional Championship-winning color guards. If you compete under any of these circuits, we know your sheets, your caption structure, and what it actually takes to score at the top.
Working With Us
Every show design engagement starts with a conversation — your concept, your ensemble's strengths, your competition schedule, and your goals for the season. From there we build a design timeline that keeps you on track from summer camp through championships.
If you're planning for the upcoming fall season, the earlier we talk, the better. Custom show design takes time to do right, and the programs that see the biggest competitive gains are the ones that start the process early.
