For more than twenty years, I have written competitive shows for programs of every size. The work starts with your players, your staff, your competitive setting, and the time you actually have—not last year's concept with different music.
White Mage Music has designed competitive marching band shows for programs across Texas, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, and Ohio.

Band budgets vary wildly across the country. I believe every band kid deserves the same gold-medal experience, regardless of the district's funding. That is why White Mage Music does not publish a fixed price list. We begin with the band, the scope, and the budget—and build the right project from there.
The schools changed. The trajectory didn't.
The partnership began at William Penn in 2004. Over six years, the band doubled in size and moved from the middle of a lower tier to the top of its class.
When the director moved to Middletown in 2010, we did it again. The band doubled, and a middle-of-the-pack program became a regional and state champion.
Odessa opened in 2021 with 25 students on the field. Today, more than 100 perform in the program. Last season, they won regional, state, and circuit championships.
Three schools. Three different rosters. One designer writing for whatever was actually in front of him.
The roster didn't grow. The results did.
Pen Argyl's director was tired of buying music and rewriting it to fit a small band. He took a chance on a custom book built for the ensemble he actually had.
The roster stayed small. The program earned class titles, multiple state runner-up finishes, and state championships by 2023. Even through a director change, the book's voice has remained part of the program's identity.
