Common Threads is a show about the things that tie us together, the quiet commonalities that run underneath all our differences, and the way a single shared thing can pull a whole group into one. It takes something small and follows it all the way across the field.

The entire production grows out of one tune. Chicago's Colour My World runs through the show like a single strand, stated, stretched, and rewoven from the first phrase to the last, with original material spun out of it along the way. Underneath, the harmonies and grooves carry echoes of music you'll recognize without ever quite naming, familiar threads pulled into the same weave.

On the field, the metaphor is literal. Large spools sit wound with thick, brightly colored rope, bobbins of thread waiting to be pulled loose. Across the show they unwind, and the color stretches from player to player until performers are tied to one another line by line and the whole ensemble is connected by the same strand. What began as separate spools ends as a single woven field.

The visual design of this show is coordinated with the musical journey and will scale with your band, regardless of its size.
