Countdown
Countdown is a show about time, and about running out of it. It lives inside that mounting pressure, the relentless tick of the clock, the sense of a deadline closing in, the anxious, driving momentum of a moment slipping away faster than you can hold it. It builds relentless and propulsive, a race against a countdown you can feel in your chest, all coiled tension and forward drive toward a clock that will not stop.
The music is where this show announces itself. Drawing on Philip Glass, Mason Bates, Wojciech Kilar, Rush, and Imogen Heap, it's built on driving minimalist engines and pulsing, mechanical rhythm, the sound of time itself in motion. This is a production for a program with real musical taste and the chops to match, an ensemble that wants a show with a pulse, a point of view, and a rep list nobody else on the circuit is touching.
The music:
- Mishima (Philip Glass)
- Philharmonia Fantastique (Mason Bates)
- Time Stand Still (Rush)
- Cycle Song (Imogen Heap)
- Orawa (Wojciech Kilar)
Permissions to arrange are required for all five selections.
