Lost in the Shifting Sands

As a student in school, I always loved the sciences and history, and would waste away hours watching those television channels full of all the nerdy, educational, informative programming. Among them, I was always fascinated by the history of Middle East and the mythology of that area (this could possibly also be fueled by Disney’s Aladdin coming out during a formative time in my life).

Throughout this work, I attempt to convey a sense of wonder and a sense of not really being sure where you’re heading. Through a combination of both open harmonies and dense harmonies, along with nontraditional harmonic movement, it’s a challenge for the listener to really know when you’ve arrived a moment - not until the last possible minute!
